Campus nazi poster referred to police

The University of Wollongong has strongly condemned the posting of nazi material on campus.

Last month, an image appeared on UOW Rants of a poster linked to the National Socialist Network at the Northfields Avenue bus stop. The poster said “white students deserve safety.”

Nazi propaganda also appeared in spots across Wollongong, including outside North Wollongong Station .

“The University of Wollongong strongly condemns the people and the ideology behind the white supremacy and neo-Nazi posters,” a UOW spokesperson said.

“Such beliefs have no place at our university. We will do all in our power to take action against those who disseminate this material.

“UOW Security removed the posters as soon as it was made aware of them. The material and CCTV footage have been passed on to Wollongong Police.”

UOW said anyone with information about these incidents should contact UOW Security on 4221 4555 or call Wollongong police.

The incident came the same month the Victorian government introduced legislation to ban the public display of swastika.
